Ozark Equine is a small farm located in the Ozark hills. We raise, train, and occasionally show Missouri Fox Trotters. We specialize in versatile recreational horses that are naturally smooth and have great dispositions. We also breed and promote the dun gene in our foxtrotters. We have a combined 40 yrs experience raising, training and showing in the breed. Missouri Fox Trotting horses are gaited, gentle, and family safe horses. They make excellent trail horses and are the mount of choice for many different occupations including the National Parks Services and some Mounted Police. Foxtrotters are performing well in endurance and competitive trail events; and you will even find Foxtrotters competing and winning against stock horses in versatility and other ranch events. If you are not familiar with the breed, you owe it to yourself to make an appointment to visit a farm and try one out. You will be glad you did. |
Beginning in 2009, we are offer breedings to outside mares to our stallion, Gone N Dun It. "Gus" is a beautiful two year old grullo fox trotter stallion. We believe he offers the complete package. He is gentle and willing with a model quality conformation. He has a nice foxtrotting gait and comes from exceptional breeding lines. Of course there isn't a prettier or more sought after color than grullo. Be sure to visit our "stallion" page for more information on Gus. |
Each year we offer a few quality foals for sale. Our mares have been carefully selected to breed to Gus. We also have a half sister to Gus and we select an outside stallion for her that will believe will yield the best possible cross for an exceptional foal. If you are interested in any of our future foals, we will be happy to add your name to our waiting list and contact you when foals arrive. This advanced notice can insure you will have the opportunity to purchase the foal of your choice before they are advertised to the public. We usually take in a few outside training horses each month and use gentle natural horsemanship methods to teach or re-teach horses to navigate the world around us. They learn to ride through a variety of terrains, and cross rivers with ease. Our horses come into contact with wildlife and man-made objects such as deer, turkeys, vehicles and trains. Please contact us if you would like more information about available training spots and/or more information about our methods. |
We also raise Ragdoll Cats, Miniature and Toy Australian Shepherds, and Registered Charolais Cattle. Please explore this site to learn more. Call us at 417-247-1097 or email us at ozarkequine@centurylink.net to learn more about our services. |
